A fiber laser cutting machine that goes to the job: it clamps onto the workpiece and cuts on site. Patent pending, designed and built by Bachan Industries in Kurali, Punjab.

Fiber Laser Cutting Machines

A normal laser cutting machine needs the material to be brought to its cutting bed. That is not possible for large structures, long beams, heavy fabrications, installed machinery or parts that are already fitted. These jobs usually mean gas cutting or hand plasma, with rough edges and a lot of grinding.

The Portable Laser Machine brings fiber laser cutting to the workpiece instead, with the clean edge and accuracy of a CNC laser.

How it works

A fiber laser cutting head moves on three linear actuators, in the X, Y and Z directions.
Each axis is driven by its own servo motor, for accurate CNC movement.
The laser beam is delivered to the head through an optical fiber cable.
Proximity sensors at both ends of every axis set the travel limits of the nozzle.
A replaceable, detachable mounting platform holds the unit firmly on the workpiece, with mounting means that can be changed to suit the job.

Where it is used

Tractor and farm machinery plants, heavy fabrication, structural steel, tank and vessel work, plant maintenance and modification, and any job where the part is too big or too heavy for a cutting bed. Leading manufacturers including Mahindra & Mahindra, Sonalika, Shaktiman and Maschio Gaspardo use Bachan machines.
